But it wasn't only her Express Yourself suit that sparked hundreds of copies.

The singer has been hailed as a fashion icon for the majority of her career, although she admits she did make some style errors in the eighties.

Madonna has received an official warning from council officers after staff at her London home upset neighbours by staging a noisy party.

Nearby residents complained as loud music and singing ruined what should have been a peaceful Sunday afternoon near the Queen of Pop's Marylebone property.

But it would appear that Madonna was not to blame. While employees of the Material Girl were getting into the groove in London, the singer herself was out of the country.

As the property's listed owner, Madonna was nonetheless issued with a noise abatement order. The 51-year-old singer was warned that any further offence could land her with a £5,000 fine.

Westminster City Council were called shortly before 2pm on June 27 following a complaint.

Arriving around 30 minutes later, officials deemed the singing and music coming from inside the house to be so loud that it constituted "statutory nuisance".

Noise officers managed to contact the partygoers via the entryphone, at which point it was discovered that the property's owner, Madonna, was not present.

A noise abatement notice was served on the revellers by posting it through the letterbox, after which the music stopped. A further notice addressed to the owner was handed to staff in person the following day.

Westminster City Council said the case is unlikely to go to court, but warned that any further offences could see Madonna summoned to appear before magistrates.

Councillor Ed Argar, cabinet member for city management, said: "If people want to hold a party, regardless of the time of day or night, they need to show some common courtesy to their neighbours, who should not have to pay the price for others' selfish behaviour."

Madonna has reached a career apex where she’s not so much a longstanding artist, but a living legend. This doesn’t guarantee an all-out commercial takeover for each project she releases, but it does speak to the sheer quality of her body of work: the product sells itself without flashy marketing.
Madonna The Sticky & Sweet Tour comprises three hours (two on DVD, one on CD) from a 2008 Buenos Aires concert. The CD component is a given pleaser for longtime fans. It’s the DVD, however, that’s the universal draw. Spanning the breadth of her musical output from 1983’s “Borderline” through 2008’s “4 Minutes,” the show accomplishes a remarkable feat not only in its ability to survey an exciting array of music genres — but also in the infinite spectacle of stage antics, choreography, and fashions that have made M such a long-lasting force. At the same time, the foundation is planted firmly in distinctively contemporary, highly enduring technique.
Indeed, very few artists these days have the luxury to produce a live show of such massive proportions. Over the course of two full, uninterrupted hours comes an abundance of grandiose sets and effects; a voluminous line-up of dancers; precisely engineered sound and sequence; and sharply produced, celebrity-studded video clips.
When M opens the show with “Candy Shop” seated on a throne that’s perched atop a silver stairway, one might be inclined to think the Queen of Pop has bitten off more than she can chew. Certainly, the first few notes out of her robust 5’4” frame sound shaky and timid. Yet, as the determined audience’s cheers mesh with the spectacle of candy-colored lights, she wastes no time picking up momentum. Once she reaches Destination: Center Stage, the “Sweet Machine” can run full-throttle, with agile dance moves and spirited interplay churning out plentiful helpings of sticky rhythm and grooves.
“Vogue 2008” sets the 1990 classic to the Timbaland production of “4 Minutes,” transforming it from a house-driven workout to a minimalist, hip-pop jam. Followed contrastingly by a retrofied update of “Into the Groove,” the scene changes from mechanical futurism to a vibrant, Keith Haring-designed backdrop — over which the 50-years-young performer seamlessly twists and writhes around moving fixtures before double-dutch jumproping in time to the song’s breakdown.
During the second half of the concert, La M delves into her ballad side — as well as her flair for international influences — more smoothly than usual. Where past tours saw her make a strained effort to be serious with slower songs, Sticky & Sweet finds her in a much more becoming, relaxed mode as she delivers the plaintive “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You” and “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” on which she’s joined by several acoustic guitarists, an accordion player, and violinist. Meanwhile, the entire dance troupe is flanked by traditional folk musicians on a festive, multiculti update of the originally understated “La Isla Bonita.”
Only a couple disappointing moments surface in the show, as far as musical arrangements are concerned. The faux Grunge-rock interpretation of “Borderline” strips the tune of its uncomplicated beauty and replaces it with a monotonous drivel of guitars, to which M adds one of several jarring, random screams of “Motherfucker!” Elsewhere, her '90s proclamation of self-assurance, “Human Nature,” is given a talkbox-driven funk treatment. This itself isn’t such a bad idea; but its placement in the show is noticeably anti-climactic, and the vocal delivery is feeble.
The confident lyrics and engaging musical structure of “Heartbeat” and “She’s Not Me,” both from the Hard Candy album, best encapsulate the energetic flavor of the experience. As M aggressively interacts with a handful of clones adorning the stage, the latter number’s message that “She doesn’t have my name, she’ll never have what I have,” truly comes to life.
30 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage from the tour is also included. This is more in-depth than similar video found on The Confessions Tour DVD. Still, its lack of in-depth scenes from any single aspect of the experience leaves a feeling of detachment. Unquestionably, it’s Madonna and company’s actual show — the entire spectacle of song, dance, style, and attitude — that make the Sticky & Sweet Tour an invigorating and highly memorable happening.

Madonna, along with the Iconix Brand Group, recently created a brand new company, called MG ICON. The newly formed joint venture is to work on various fashion related projects in the future, the first of them being an amazing eyewear collection co-developed by Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana!

Stefano Gabbana recently told Women's Wear Daily, "We're so excited. This further strengthens our relationship with Madonna, and it was a very constructive experience for us." Dolce added, "We thought, why not do something together and unite two very strong and high-profile names."

The MDG collection will hit Dolce & Gabbana stores during the month of May, but will also be available from the Sunglass Hut chain and select opticians.

Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour wrapped its record breaking run last month in Israel, but fans can still catch Material Girl’s unbelievable Hard Candy stage gig on October 30th when EpixHD.com airs footage from her sold out four night stand in Buenos Aires from December 2008. As a first look at the footage, Billboard premiered the above video of Madonna and company performing a funky, reworked “Into the Groove” a song that Madonna herself told RS she feels “retarded singing.”

This new take on “Into the Groove,” which featured in the “Old School” segment of Madonna’s concert, samples other dance-floor classics like Newcleus’ “Jam On It” and Sugarhill Gang’s “Apache” while characters from late artist (and Madonna pal) Keith Haring dance on dozens of giant screens. But the most awe-inspiring thing about the performance is Madonna herself, as the then 50 year old jumpropes Double Dutch — while singing.

For those of us who are not successful enough to be in Europe to see Mo do her thing or be even more successful as to sit on a rehearsal, I thought I would put together a slide show of her recent rehearsal in St. Petersburg on August 2. She arrive very light hearted and actually, well, happy.
As we all know, Madonna can be completely difficult, and if the sound barrier doesn't happen without a jerk, even more so. Clearly, the sound blender are doing their thing correctly.
In other Madonnaland news, people are STILL talking about the now infamous, Photo Shopped image of veiny, absurt arms. The picture is clearly a bastard, I will even address it and it is the very last time. Apparently, when Madonna is happy and not doing anything controversial, the press must find something to report about her and alternative to acknowledging lies. Madonna is in amazing shape, no surprise there. Thank God our lady has beyond belief thick skin, for if she didn't, she would have faded away years ago.

Madonna's new single Celebration has been released on the internet to the delight of Madonna fans everywhere.

Once upon a time, a budding dancefloor philosopher named Madonna released her very first single, “Everybody,” and commanded her minions thusly: “Come on, take a chance/ Get up and start the dance/ Let the D.J. shake you/ Let the music take you.” Twenty-six years and over one billion crunches later, Ms. Ciccione is still pleading with the masses to shake their groove things with “Celebration,” the title track from her forthcoming greatest hits compilation that hit the Internet today.

“Celebration” is unapologetically dance-y, which means two things: I’m sitting here at my desk typing faster than usual and throwing in the occasional shoulder shimmy (fun!) while doing it. And secondly, the track is unlikely to make much headway at disco-phobic U.S. radio because apparently America does not like to get it percolatin’ in this dancerie. Ah well. No matter, Madge loyalists will be inevitably downloading this one and playing it on repeat in their cars, on the treadmill, even in their minds as they’re sleeping.

It is the first single off her Greatest Hits album, and seems to be getting a good reception so far, many are saying it's a return to her roots and sounds like the Madonna of the 90s.

The single is produced by Paul Oakenfold, who has worked with Ice Cube, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and U2.

Two people have died after the roof of a stage being built for a Madonna concert collapsed confirmed by The Marseille hospital authority.The hospital authority says a French worker was killed immediately when the roof fell apart on top of several workers Thursday. Another British worker died yesterday from injuries suffered in the accident. Eight others were injured, including an American who is in serious condition.

The tickets have gone on sale for Madonna's 27-date world tour which kicks off in Cardiff in August. A tickets agency in the city said there had been a queue of people waiting for their doors to open at 0900 BST. The head of marketing at the Millennium Stadium said they were "delighted" Madonna was starting her tour there. "As she's starting her world tour here, it's placing a tremendous focus on Cardiff," Gwyn Dolphin from the stadium said. "This is the second time Madonna has performed here, it shows it's a good venue and a good location." He expected the concert to be a sell out with around 50,000 attending and Mr Dolphin said having the choice to open or close the roof gave them added flexibility. Madonna's only other UK date for the Sticky & Sweet Tour is in Wembley, London. Tim Rich managing director from Ticketline UK said: "There sales have been very brisk with people coming through the doors and calling on the phone. "It's great for Cardiff and south Wales that Madonna's bringing her visual and audio extravaganza here. In 2006 she came to the Millennium Stadium with her Confessions Tour, which was I think the highest grossing tour for a female at the time," he added. He said there was a limit of six tickets per person - with prices ranging from £55 to £150. The star celebrates her 50th birthday on 16 August, days only before the concert in Cardiff on 23 August. Hard Candy is the eleventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna and was released first on 25 April 2008 by Warner Bros. Records. It was her last studio album to be released under her contract with Warner Bros. April 26 was the release date in Australia but many retailers chose to sell the album two days early on April 24, while a select few European countries saw the album's release on April 25; on 28 April 2008 in the United Kingdom, Brazil and most other European countries, and on 29 April 2008 in the United States, Argentina, Mexico and Canada.
The album has an overall hip-hop/pop feel, while remaining a pop/dance record at heart. The Sun quoted a source as saying:

“It’s not all hip-hop though, there are a lot of producers from a lot of genres in there. It could be her most ambitious project yet.”

Madonna has gone on the record many times in the last month, stating that she will indeed embark on a fall tour to go with the album. Possible dates leaked on May 7, 2008, stating that the tour would begin on August 23, 2008 in Cardiff, Wales. This album is brilliant. Ok...the sound she has put out isn't a new or one of her re-invention types as usual...but i think its exactly what was expected of Madonna - the pop star - not hip-hop or r n b musician - so for someone like this, who is also 50 in August to put out such fresh, and catchy music is pretty damn good! and i know she doesn't have the best voice either...but she CAN actually sing tho. It's not like she sounds like that muppet Britney Spears is it. :) Go Madge. HARD CANDY DESERVES TO STAY AT NO.1.

I, honestly, love the album! I do hate however when I went to purchase it on Itunes many people commented on how she is about to be 50 and is singing music like this. Although Mick Jagger and The Rollingstones, Cher, and a few other pop icons like the those two who are over 60 and are performing like their 20! I love this new album! My particular favorites are; Give It 2 Me, Miles Away, Devil Wouldn't Recogize you, Heartbeat, and Beat Goes On!! In conclusion I believe it will do a lot better than people predict and much better than Mariah Carey's new album!!!

The unstoppable pop icon Madonna has announced the dates for her brand new world tour to promote her new big-selling album Hard Candy. The travelling super star's parade kicks off at the Cardiff Millennium Stadium in Wales on 23 August 2008, then onto the continent with shows in:

Nice at Stade Charles Ehrmann on 26 August
Berlin at Olympic Stadium on 28 August
Amsterdam Arena on 2 September
Dusseldorf LTU Arena on 4 September
Rome Olympic Stadium on 6 September
Frankfurt Commerzbank Arena on 9 September

Madonna will finish up the European leg of Sticky & Sweet with a massive blow-out at London Wembley arena on 11 September and finally at the Stade de France in Paris on 20 September. The tour will then take on the US and Canada before going south for concerts in Mexico and throughout South America.
